This training is practical, relationship-based discussions designed for frontline workers and home visitors supporting families navigating trauma, systemic barriers, and layered needs. This training centers trust, safety, and dignity, while acknowledging the power dynamics and realities that shape family engagement. Participants will explore how trauma, oppression, and lived experience influence behaviour, resistance, and connection and learn how to respond with curiosity rather than control

Through real-world scenarios and applied strategies, participants will build skills in attuned listening, boundary-setting, and collaborative problem-solving that strengthen engagement without over-functioning or burnout. This training emphasizes practical tools that can be used immediately in the field, helping workers show up as steady, respectful partners who foster safety, agency, and meaningful connection with families.
