The ART of Trauma-Informed De-escalation Strategies

What if de-escalation was less about control—and more about connection?

CATEGORY: Trauma-Informed Care

LENGTH: 6 Hours

This training introduces the ART approach to trauma-informed de-escalation—Approach, Response, and Technique—as a relational framework for navigating emotionally charged situations at work. Participants explore how emotional safety is created (or compromised) through everyday interactions, and how intentional approaches can prevent crises before they escalate. Through guided reflection on personal boundaries, communication styles, and debriefing practices, participants build skills to reduce escalation without reliance on physical intervention. Designed for community service providers and client-facing professionals, this training equips participants to support both clients and colleagues through understanding, empathy, and effective, values-aligned action.
